Dupe Away para Mac

As a long time multi buyer of Macroplant's software, I'm always delighted in how well thought out their products are: easy to use, and tend to deliver more value than you thought. Also, with dupe away 3 the algorithm seems vastly more efficient as it handled my substantial library in no time flat. It's a steal at the price point too, IMHO. Lastly, the few times (over th years) I've had to contact Macroplant support, they've always been super professional -- and timely in their response.

I just bought Dupe Away and got a feeling I got duped. It hasn't done anything it promises. I have emailed them a few times, at least 5 times, asking for help and nothing. First I tried their feature that cleans the empty files. It said I had 3900 empty files, which was true, I ran the thing over night just to wake up and find that it didn't work. After it was supposedly done all the empty files were still in my Itunes. I deleted all them on my own. So I tried the eliminate the duplicates. I have almost 1500 duplicates. Dupe Away analyzed my files and found 379 only. I said what the hell better than nothing. I ran the thing for almost an entire day. When it was done, I ran again to see if it could find the rest. After various attempt and lots of frozen computer crash it still only found 379 duplicates. I emailed them and got one reply asking me what kind of OS I had. I responded and nothing. I sent more emails to support and nothing. I am desperate at this point, ran the software again to see what happens and it's now going thru the 379 duplicates again and it's bee over 5 hours and it hasn't got to the half point. yet. I could've probably done it manually and finished by now. Yet I still haven't heard anything from them. So it looks like I just gave those guys 12 dollars. I hope it buy them a couple of beers at least. Too bad. I was very excited when I found Dupe away and thought I was finally have a clean itunes. Bummer.! oh since I downloaded Dupe Away my Mac has been crashing a lot so one they way to a genius bar to see if they can help me. Thank god Apple has a good support! Giving a half start as there isn't negative start to give.

Good enough for me

Excellent program! Helped me remove over 20 GB of storage on duplicated songs. Very easy and simple to use. 5 stars!
